Just left the Consignment store and I was angry. I could recognize most of the objects that were up for sale. They all belonged to my friend, Cororon, who was forced to leave her house, due to some injustice done to her family.
I had been in a bad mood all evening and I had been wondering what happened.
I fixed myself dinner, but I was still concerned. I knew something bad happened and that she needed the money off her stuff really fast, that she was on the verge or despair if she had to do that.
Maybe, I could borrow her some.
I hardly touched my food. I wasn’t hungry. I had an idea.
So I went to visit Cororon. I knew she lived in a small cottage. I knocked at the door, but it wasn’t her to answer.
A rather …ugly guy opened the door and another young man was also standing there.
‘Who are you? Where is my friend?’ I asked.
‘You mean, Cororon? She is sleeping. I am a Social Worker and my name is Michael Dusty. This man here is a caretaker and his name is Omri.’
I went to Cor’s bedroom. She looked so peaceful! I did not want to wake her up.
Omri headed to a small crib and held a little baby. That is right! Cororon just had a baby girl. I was starting to understand what is going on. They were here to take away her baby. I was not pleased.
However, Omri seemed to be quite the friendly type. He never said anything, just played with the little girl. She was really innocent and too young to know what’s going on.
I went to talk to Michael, hopefully he will give my friend another chance to keep her child. He said he will if they will pay him 1000 simoleons until the end of the week. I knew Cororon didn’t have a job and her husband was struggling.
In the meantime, Cororon woke up.
However, I overheard Michael whispering something to Omri: ‘Let’s take this baby away and be done with. They won’t be able to pay their debt, I know it.’ Omri, however didn’t agree with Michael’s decision and told him to wait.
I decided to talk to Cororon, but she just told me that I came at the wrong time and I’d better go home because she wasn’t in the mood to talk right now. I could tell she was upset, not with me, but with the whole situation. She just wanted to sleep.
I left the room and Michael Dusty followed me. He didn’t like me interefering with his plans and looked rather angry.
Then, he surprised me with a bouquet of purple flowers. I was baffled. I accepted them, but… I didn’t like this guy at all. He seemed mean, cocky and rather two-faced.
I just wanted to kick him in the nuts and run. I couldn’t do that, go figure.
So I decided to distract myself with a guitar, found an excuse that I had to learn playing it, so he can leave me alone. That wasn’t what I came for.
I played for a little while.
Cororon’s hubby came home late and even though he was also tired after a whole day of work, he started to fix breakfast. I decided to leave soon after that.
I was not happy with what I had to see and I was a little worried that this social worker, Michael, ended up taking the baby away after all.
I needed a plan. I was going to borrow my friend some money so she can get her baby back , but, for how long?
Something about Michael was fishy. What kind of social worker asks a poor family for money?
